Getting started

Install the beta, then choose your path.

Hozz is in beta, not released on the App Store or Google Play.

Downloads#

Release notes, checksums and demo. Beta testing guide.

Android: open an archive#

Android cannot read Apple Health. Open a Hozz NDJSON or ZIP archive; archive-only mode preserves all types.

Android beta guide.

iPhone and iPad: export Apple Health#

1. Give it Health access#

Grant any subset. Change it later in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Hozz.

2. Pick a destination#

Nothing leaves until you add and confirm a destination.

On Automatic, choose a discovered Mac or one of five presets. Start with Folder if unsure.

Choose its Health types, format and cadence. Send a test uses a probe with no Health data.

3. Run the first export#

Automatic sync works through history in bounded batches, sharing each pass across selected types.

The phone reports completed types; the Mac reports received types and date coverage. Health does not reveal totals before reading them, so Hozz cannot give a percentage or estimate.

Export builds a historical NDJSON, CSV, JSON, SQLite, Markdown or GPX file. Interrupted exports resume from their last durable checkpoint.

Manual export is independent of automatic destinations.

Build from source instead#

Apple builds with Xcode

Use Xcode 27+ and XcodeGen 2.46 or newer.

Terminal
git clone --branch v0.1.0-beta.1 --depth 1 https://github.com/brandomoore/Hozz.git
cd Hozz

# Signing lives in a gitignored Local.xcconfig:
echo "DEVELOPMENT_TEAM = YOURTEAMID" > Local.xcconfig

# Build and install on a connected iPhone:
tools/device-build.sh

tools/mac-build.sh builds the Mac app.

Device builds need the App Group group.com.thatcube.Hozz in your developer profile. Simulator builds do not.
